Flamingos Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Florence got a first-rate effort from pitcher Alan Sullivan, who frustrated Tortolita hitters en route to a 2-1 Flamingos triumph at Drummers Ballpark. In 8 innings, Sullivan surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. The Flamingos are now 34-38.
In the top of the first, Tanzan Murayama ambushed a 2-1 fastball from Dan Caine and hit a 2-run home run. It gave Florence a quick 2-0 lead.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Sullivan.
