Hartford Upended, 3-2, by Santa Barbara
|
Starting pitcher Larry Freeland gave the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Hartford Pride, 3-2, at Crane Field. Freeland yielded 2 runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 2-1. Chris Williams collected save number 6.
Making an impact for the home team was Richie Wallace. In the bottom of the third, the 25-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 2-0, Golden Cranes.
"Larry pitches well when he gets lathered up," said Santa Barbara manager José Mejía.
At 27-45, the Golden Cranes find themselves in 9th place in the Silver AAA.
