Rocks Topple Rainbeaus, 8-5
The Plymouth Rocks besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Kansas left fielder Larry Rothrock by beating the Rainbeaus, 8-5, at Plymouth Quarry. Rothrock went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Lander Vardoulakis, now 1-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. Joe Roberts was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 7 save opportunities.

Tied up with the Rainbeaus in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Rocks got a boost from center fielder Walt Allard. With the bases loaded, Allard saw a first pitch changeup from Lambert Fierant and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Plymouth on top, 5-4.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Allard.

The Rocks sit in 4th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 38-36.
