The Calgary Lynx wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Eddy Poole, falling, 1-0, to the Nashville Hot Chickens in 10 innings at Lynx Stadium. By defeating Calgary, the last-place Hot Chickens improved to 27-47.

Nashville used the timely hitting of Walter Cox to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Hot Chickens on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"The old adage is true," said Cox. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
