The Florence Flamingos beat the Austin Black Mambas, 4-2, at Florence Field. Brian Martin, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 4 with 3 singles. Ryunosuke Nagata got credit for the save for Florence. It was his 3rd of the year. The Flamingos move to 36-38 with the win, while the Black Mambas drop to 23-51.
Had Ray Hines not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Hines hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Flamingos.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Hines. "It sure beats the alternative."
