The Norfolk Pajaritos scooped up a win at Norfolk Field, dumping the Monongahela Monsters, 4-2. Doug Morgan, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in complete games with 1, was essential to his team's success. David Adelabu wrapped it up, recording his 25th save. The Pajaritos saw their win-loss record go to 48-27. At the same time, the Monsters fell to 49-26.

An inflection point occurred with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Pajaritos left fielder Ken Byrd hit a fastball from John Dodson for a 2-run single. Just like that, Norfolk was up, 2-1.

Byrd called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
