Hot Chickens Use Late Score to Top Lynx, 3-2
|
The Nashville Hot Chickens beat the Calgary Lynx by a score of 3-2. Nashville third baseman Hudson Williams deserved the lion's share of the credit. Williams went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks for the Hot Chickens. Nashville reliever Bong-ok Nae picked up the win to move to 2-2. Richard Case suffered the loss. Nashville, at 28-47, sits in last place in the Silver AAA.
The most important at-bat for Nashville came in the top of the tenth inning, when right fielder Joe Swanson stroked a 2-0 fastball to left-center for a run-scoring single, putting Nashville up, 3-2.
"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Swanson, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
