The Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 5-4. Ellenburg pitcher and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native Joe Winters led the way. Winters, now 5-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. The win puts the Fighting Dachshunds at 48-29, while the Blitzkrieg drop to 24-53.

The Fighting Dachshunds got a clutch hit from Earl McKinney with one out in the top of the ninth inning. McKinney jumped on a 1-0 changeup from Juan Soto and hit a run-scoring single, staking his club to a 5-2 lead.

"It was a solid team effort," said McKinney after the game.
