Liberty Reserves Knock Off Drummers, 2-1

Lawrence MacLellan pitched well, but his team, the Tortolita Drummers, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves at Liberty Reserve Stadium. Fred Briggs collected save number 5. The 6th-place Liberty Reserves are now 38-40, the Drummers 51-27.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Liberty Reserves had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when center fielder Carl Vaughn hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Lawrence MacLellan and made the score 1-0, Liberty Reserves. Vaughn went 1 for 3 with a walk.
Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel called it "a pretty good win."
