The Hartford Pride downed the Florence Flamingos, 5-1, at Pride Park. Stellar pitching by Alex Wicksted had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in wins with 7, handcuffed his opponent all game. Hartford has now won 3 straight, while the Flamingos have lost 3 in a row.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Glenn Patterson didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and Florence trailing 2-1, Patterson retired Bobby Harris to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Patterson, with a wink.
