Fighting Dachshunds Prevail, 2-1, Over Sacramento
|
Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds and the Sacramento Redlegs. Ellenburg won it, 2-1. Ellenburg starter Ben Gallagher was in command. Ikaaka Iokia was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 9 save opportunities. The Fighting Dachshunds now have a record of 21-58.
Early in the game, first baseman Jeffrey Dale had a run-scoring double for Ellenburg. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Fighting Dachshunds on top, 2-1.
Gallagher said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
