Squirrel Monkeys Come Up Short at Austin, 7-6
Fans watched the Austin Black Mambas and the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys fight to the finish.

The Austin Black Mambas scored a tight, 7-6 win versus the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys at Mamba Park. Austin pitcher Greg Berry held his own in the contest. Horace Hill finished the game for Austin and earned his 12th save.

Joaquín González, who is tied for 2nd in the SAAA in stolen bases with 14, contributed to the Austin win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Syracuse manager Ramón Barrueco. "The effort was great."

The Black Mambas now own a record of 38-42.
