Behind a solid performance from catcher Dave MacGruder, the Plymouth Rocks defeated the Florence Flamingos, 6-1. MacGruder went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rocks. The winner was Plymouth reliever Claudio Núñez, now 1-0. The loser was Paul Ramsey. The win makes Plymouth 41-40.

With Plymouth leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, MacGruder hit a sinker from Paul Ramsey for a 2-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Rocks ahead, 4-1.

"We did a lot of things right," said MacGruder.
