Hartford got a terrific game from designated hitter Denny Townsend. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Calgary, 4-3. Townsend was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Luis Ruíz. He is now 7-3. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The misery continues for the Pride, who have now dropped 10 in a row.

Calgary first baseman Samuel Lopez delivered a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. Overall, he went 3 for 4, picking up 1 home run, 1 single, and 1 double. He scored 1 run and knocked in 2.

"I want us to come out, have fun, hit some balls, and score. We're having a tough time," said Tim Fowler, the Hartford manager.
