The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Hialeah Dodos, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The standout performance belonged to Hamilton pitcher and Henderson, Nevada, native Vernon Álvarez. Earning his 5th save for Hamilton was Pei Fa. With the win, Hamilton goes to 33-48, while the Dodos fall to 40-41.

In the bottom of the sixth, with Hamilton leading 2-1, catcher Flynn Ford hit a 2-run single. The hit came off Yu-eh Wang and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 4-1.

"This was a good win," said Ford.
