The home crowd had a good time watching the Nashville Hot Chickens and Philadelphia Liberty Reserves get after it.

Philadelphia pitcher Peter Smith did his part in helping his team beat the Nashville Hot Chickens, 7-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 6.1 innings, Smith surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs.

In the bottom of the third inning, catcher Chris Cates had a 3-run home run for Philadelphia. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Liberty Reserves on top, 3-0.

"Peter was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Philadelphia manager Kiril Neuvel.
