Monongahela Monsters starter Laionela Pualani found his groove in his team's 7-2 win over the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys. The victory gives Monongahela a record of 49-33.

Todd Snow had a big 2-run home run for the Monsters in the bottom of the third inning. With Monongahela leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 34-year old right-handed pitcher Yefim Vistunov and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Monsters on top, 3-0.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Monongahela manager Sancho Tornero. "That's what Laionela is right now."
