A 3-RBI performance from Stanford Logan, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2058 draft, helped the Tortolita Drummers beat the Port Huron Blitzkrieg, 5-3. Geoffrey Da Costa, who went 7 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 9-5. Billy Richardson picked up his 8th save of the season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Joe Bunte? The Tortolita second baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Drummers on top, 2-1. For the game, Bunte had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Bunte told the Tortolita Chronicle.
The Drummers are now 55-29, while the Blitzkrieg fall to 32-52.
