Pitcher Anthony Coleman was sensational for the Calgary Lynx in his team's 5-0 triumph over the Monongahela Monsters. Coleman earned the win. In 5.2 innings, Coleman surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. The Lynx saw their win-loss record go to 42-42. At the same time, the Monsters fell to 50-34.

Calgary used the stroke of Corey Nichols to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Lynx ahead, 5-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"I think every team will tell you that the pitching sets the tone, especially the starters," said Calgary skipper Steve Duncan.
