The Monongahela Monsters got a superb performance from pitcher Lee Wood. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Calgary. The Lynx won the game, 2-1. Wood threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The loss makes Monongahela 54-31.

Had Thomas Clinkinboomer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Clinkinboomer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Lynx.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Clinkinboomer. "And not try to do too much."
