Starting pitcher Roland Jamison pitched well enough to help the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves beat the Florence Flamingos, 5-4. The win went to Fred Briggs in relief, making him now 2-1. Cisco Rodríguez took the loss for Florence. With the win, Philadelphia upped its record to 54-31.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Philadelphia trailing 4-3, Marcos Ortíz hit a changeup from Cisco Rodríguez to center for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Liberty Reserves had a walk-off win.
