The Florence Flamingos picked up a win at Liberty Reserve Stadium, downing the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves, 8-3. On the mound for Florence was right-hander Alan Sullivan, who played a pivotal role in the win. The victory puts Florence at 33-53.

Florence used a clutch at-bat from Richard Clift to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Alan pitched like a champ," said Florence manager Nick Hoskins.
