Hartford designated hitter Henry Roberts made his presence felt in the 7-6 Pride triumph over the Tortolita Drummers. Roberts was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5. Glenn Patterson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities. Hartford is now 37-49, while Tortolita is 45-41.

Hartford used the timely hitting of Steve Allison to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pride on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Pride manager Tim Fowler wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
