Monongahela pitcher Myung-woo Kang did his part in helping his team beat the Calgary Lynx, 4-0. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Kang, now 11-2, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. The Monsters now own a record of 56-31.
Tim Anderson had a big hit for Monongahela in the top of the sixth inning. With Monongahela leading 1-0, Anderson hit a 2-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Monsters up, 3-0.
"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Anderson told the Monongahela Times. "You win just by scoring more runs."
