Drummers Need Extra Innings to Top Dogfish Head, 3-1
|
The Tortolita Drummers faced a tenacious opponent in Milton pitcher David Guerra, but still scratched out a win at Drummers Ballpark by a final score of 3-1 in 10 innings. Guerra went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Tortolita reliever Rob Green was the winner. His record is now 3-3. The losing pitcher was Joe Hunt. The Drummers saw their win-loss record go to 57-30. At the same time, the Dogfish Head fell to 33-54.
Damian García played the role of hero for Tortolita. In the bottom of the tenth, he launched a 2-run home run off Joe Hunt to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said Drummers manager Marcos Costa.
