The Calgary Lynx took Tortolita pitcher Juan Torres's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Lynx Stadium. The final score had Calgary getting past the Drummers, 3-1. Torres went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 5. The win belonged to Wilbert McCabe in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Marc Potts took the loss for Tortolita. Calgary, at 54-34, sits in second place in the Silver AAA.
Had Jon Booker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Booker hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Lynx.
In postgame comments to the Calgary Bulletin, Booker said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
