Though he had a stellar game, Ozzie Canales-Lister could not prevent his team, the Tortolita Drummers, from losing, 6-3, to the Calgary Lynx. Canales-Lister was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Conner Dixon, the winning pitcher, improved to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 3 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Bill Robinson picked up the save for Calgary, his 1st of the year.
Phil Maddox broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Lynx in front, 1-0. For the game, Maddox was 1 for 4.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Marcos Costa.
The 4th-place Lynx now sit at 48-40.
