The Monongahela Monsters defeated the Hartford Pride, 5-3, in USSL Triple A action at Pride Park. Monongahela pitcher Lee Wood had a standout performance. The winning pitcher was Wood, now 9-4. He tossed 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Brad Pratly was called on to finish, recording his 13th save.

Michael Jones had a big 2-run double for the Monsters in the top of the second inning. With Monongahela leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Alex Wicksted, who is tied for 6th in the SAAA in quality starts with 12, and swatted a double to center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monsters ahead, 4-0.

Monongahela manager Sancho Tornero called it "a pretty good win."
