Tight Tilt Goes to Rainbeaus, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Kansas Rainbeaus and the Hartford Pride, Michael Carlson was the X factor. The Kansas right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winner was Carlson. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Anthony Hines. Kenny Flint got credit for the save for Kansas. It was his 9th of the year.
Kansas used the hitting of Paul Sherman to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rainbeaus on top, 3-0. For the game, Sherman had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Michael kept his poise and got the job done," said Kansas manager Jorge Otero. "He was outstanding."
The Rainbeaus, at 66-22, have now won 5 straight.
