Behind a fine performance from Ray Duffey, the Florence Flamingos knocked off the Tortolita Drummers in 10 innings, 6-5. Duffey was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Flamingos. Florence is 38-51 and Tortolita, with the loss, 58-31.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Florence trailing 5-4, Duffey jumped on a fastball from 37-year old right-handed pitcher Rob Green and hit a 2-run home run to right-center. With one swing, the Flamingos had a walk-off win.
