Golden Cranes Suffer 3-0 Loss to Men
|
Starting pitcher Jim Bird gave the Florida Men a rock-solid effort. The Tucson, Arizona native helped his team defeat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 3-0, at Psychos Ballpark. Bird picked up the win for Florida, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 7-10. The Men, at 36-54, sit in 8th place in the Silver AAA.
Tied up with the Golden Cranes in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Men got a boost from designated hitter Jim Rogers. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rogers saw a first pitch fastball from Nelson McNeil and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Florida on top, 2-0.
Florida manager José Ramos praised his team's "energy."
