Drummers Claim 6-4 Win
|
Behind the hitting of Carl Flowers, the Tortolita Drummers clipped the Calgary Lynx, 6-4. Flowers went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Drummers. The winning pitcher was Bob Foster. He tossed 98 pitches over 6.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. Andrew Shirley finished to wrap up his 16th save.
Flowers had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Drummers went on to win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Tortolita manager Marcos Costa.
At 48-42, the Drummers claim 5th place in the Silver AAA.
