The Philadelphia Liberty Reserves defeated the Milton Dogfish Head, 9-5, at Milton Corner Tavern. Philadelphia center fielder Francisco Ferguson had a superb performance. He was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Philadelphia starter Peter Smith was credited with the win after throwing 103 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 13-4. Dave Doran got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 1st of the year.

Isaaka Kaikala had a big 2-run double for the Liberty Reserves in the top of the fifth inning. With Philadelphia leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Mike Nichols, who leads the SAAA in complete games with 4, and swatted a double to center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Liberty Reserves ahead, 5-2.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Kaikala.

The 6th-place Liberty Reserves improved to 46-45.
