5 Straight Wins for Liberty Reserves
The Monongahela Monsters got a superb performance from pitcher Myung-woo Kang, but the Philadelphia Liberty Reserves still won the game, 3-1. Kang threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Tong-kyu Ko in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Brad Pratly took the loss. Bill Carson notched his 26th save in 30 chances.

Philadelphia used the timely hitting of Johan Møller to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Liberty Reserves on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Makes our job easier," said Møller, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."

The first-place Liberty Reserves have won 5 straight.
