Hot Chickens Lose, 3-1, in 10
|
In a tight game between the Florence Flamingos and the Nashville Hot Chickens, pitcher Gustavo Martínez was terrific on the mound. The Florence right-hander helped his team to the 3-1 win. Neil Herrera came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-1. The Flamingos go to 37-54 with the win.
Florence used the timely hitting of Ian Miller to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Flamingos on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We take it day by day here," said Martínez, "and today was a good one for us."
