Though he had a terrific game, Steve Allison could not prevent his team, the Hartford Pride, from absorbing a loss. Norfolk won the game, 6-3. Allison went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Norfolk pitcher Ted Elkins got the win, upping his record to 3-1. Eugene Glenn got the loss. Picking up his 1st save was fireballing right-hander Mario Pérez.

Norfolk took the lead, 5-1, on Dan Harlow's 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run came off Hartford pitcher Jamie Gauthier in the bottom of the seventh.

Said Norfolk manager Phil Baker: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."

The win puts Norfolk at 57-35 this season.
