Late Offense Lifts Tortolita to 8-5 Victory
The Tortolita Drummers took Sioux Falls pitcher Rock DeVote's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Bamboo Forest. The final score had Tortolita getting past the Red Pandas, 8-5. DeVote went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 5. The win belonged to Jack MacAlonie in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Hideki Takahashi took the loss for Sioux Falls. The win puts Tortolita at 50-42 this season.

Tortolita used a timely hit from Tse-peng Thian to get the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drummers ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Marcos Costa said.
