Redlegs Take Down Dodos, 3-2

Hialeah got a terrific performance from pitcher Kevin Horton, but it wasn't enough to beat the Sacramento Redlegs. Sacramento won the Sacramento Sanitation Station contest, 3-2. Horton threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Roberto Sánchez earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 5-2. Sacramento has a 4-game win streak, while Hialeah has lost 5 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Sacramento pinch hitter Ricardo Villanueva, facing Dan Carter, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Redlegs the 3-2 win.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Hialeah manager Billy Strauss.
