Slumping Black Mambas Lose Again
|
Roosevelt Maynard, who is tied for 9th in the SAAA in holds with 5, propelled his team to victory over the Austin Black Mambas. The final score was 4-1, Florence. Maynard, now 3-6, was the winner. In 5.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Austin now owns a losing streak of 9 games.
Florence used the timely hitting of Ryan Hudson to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Flamingos ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We've hit a lull," said Austin manager Luis Vicenteno.
