Monsters Grind Out 2-1 Win
|
Monongahela right-hander Laionela Pualani helped his team edge Port Huron by the score of 2-1. Pualani kept the opposing lineup in check. Pualani, now 7-3, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Héctor González finished to wrap up his 27th save.
Tim Anderson broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Monsters in front, 1-0. For the game, Anderson went 1-3.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Anderson.
The victory gives the Monsters a record of 58-38.
