Rainbeaus Prevail, 3-1, Over Nashville
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus downed the Nashville Hot Chickens, 3-1, at Wichita Field. Stellar pitching by Steve Romero had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the SAAA in quality starts with 16, handcuffed his opponent all game. Romero yielded 1 run over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 8-10. Christopher Parkin was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Jeremias Brem aided the Kansas cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-3.
"We took home the win," said Brem. "What's not to like?"
Nashville, at 39-58, has lost 6 straight.
