Drummers Stay Hot, Beat Black Mambas, 4-1

The Tortolita Drummers topped the Austin Black Mambas, 4-1, in USSL Triple A action at Drummers Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Tortolita pitcher and Waitakere, New Zealand, native Norman Ayres. The 4th-place Drummers have won 5 straight games.
Dave Cahill came through for Tortolita with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. The first baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 RBI.
"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Ayres told the Tortolita News. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."
