Monongahela got a big-time effort from pitcher Myung-woo Kang, but it wasn't enough to keep the Florence Flamingos from winning the game, 5-4. Kang threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Larry Freeland picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-1. José Garza was tagged with the loss. Florence is in 7th place in the Silver AAA with a record of 42-56.

Florence took the lead, 5-4, on Víctor Ríos's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Monongahela pitcher José Garza in the bottom of the eighth.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Ríos, "one at-bat at a time."
