Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at The Bamboo Forest.
Port Huron Blitzkrieg starter Gustavo Rivera found his groove in his team's 4-3 win over the Sioux Falls Red Pandas. Port Huron reliever Minoru Sakata was the winner. His record is now 6-1. The losing pitcher was Curtis Hall. Luis Montáñez was credited with the save, his 15th in 17 tries.
Shawn Dalton, who is tied for 10th in the SAAA in doubles with 18, had a direct impact on the outcome. Dalton contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Port Huron up, 3-2.
Dalton called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
The Blitzkrieg raised their record to 40-60.
