Men Stick Rocks with 7-4 Loss
|
The Florida Men topped the Plymouth Rocks, 7-4, with first baseman José Colón playing a big role. Colón was 2-4 with a triple. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4 for the Men in the win. The win was credited to 27-year old right-handed pitcher Francisco Cortés in relief. His record improves to 1-3. Rodney Craig took the loss. Corbin Dundee picked up the save for Florida, his 20th of the year.
Colón had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the seventh. On a 3-1 slider from Rodney Craig, he banged a bases-clearing triple to right, giving the Men a 6-4 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Colón.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Colón told the Florida Daily News.
The third-place Rocks dropped to 60-41.
