Jersey City pitcher Jing-quo Ts'ai did his part in helping his team defeat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 1-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Jonathan Young earned his 10th save in 11 chances. The Tritons raised their record to 61-40.

The Red Pandas had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Tritons going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old second baseman Rick Preston came to the plate. Preston hit a solo home run on a 3-1 fastball from Sioux Falls hurler Michael MacGregor. It was Preston's 8th home run of the year.

Ts'ai attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
