Hialeah beat Hartford on the strength of starter Chip Sizemore's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-2. Sizemore, now 6-9, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The Dodos saw their win-loss record go to 47-55. At the same time, the Pride fell to 59-43.
Hialeah relied on the hitting of Woody Maxwell to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dodos on top, 5-0. For the game, Maxwell had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Hialeah skipper Billy Strauss.
