Fat Cats Top Rails, 9-5
|
The Ottawa Fat Cats picked up a win at Rails Ballpark, taking down the Richland Rails, 9-5, in 10 innings. On the mound for Ottawa was left-hander Bailey Marshall. He played a central role in the triumph. Ottawa reliever Mark Wilson snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Ricardo Tirado shouldered the loss. Richland, with the loss, is 3-4.
Ottawa used a timely hit from José Guillén to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Fat Cats ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza. "That's what Bailey is right now."
