The Detroit Rock City were defeated, 2-1, by the Kingston Ponies at Megaffin Park, even though Ronald Jackson pitched well for Detroit. Anthon Arents snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 6 hits over 6 innings. He's now 3-1 on the season. Fred Hull wrapped it up, recording his 7th save.

Kingston took a 2-0 lead on Clifton Roberson's 10th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Roberson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Detroit pitcher Ronald Jackson visibly frustrated.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Detroit skipper Kyle Salow, "and it cost us."

Kingston's record now stands at 15-27, placing them 11th in the Third League.
