Nova Scotia Defeated By Ponies, 3-1

The Kingston Ponies picked up a win at Megaffin Park, knocking off the Nova Scotia Leviathan, 3-1. On the mound for Kingston was right-hander Walt Gregory. He played a key role in the triumph. Sam van Elswijk earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 3-2. The 9th-place Ponies now have a record of 26-32.
Júlio Gil hit a 2-run home run off Alfredo Maldonado in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Ponies ahead, 3-1. In addition to the homer, Gil had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.
"We take it day by day here," said Gil, "and today was a good one for us."
