The Long Island Lighthouse had to overcome a fine effort from Thunder Bay pitcher Qu-bing Li to win, 3-2, at The Lighthouse. Li went 6.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Long Island is now 41-21, 2½ games up in the Third League.
Thulsa Doom had a big solo home run for the Lighthouse in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Long Island leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from Qu-bing Li, who finished 2nd in the 3L in wins with 10 in 2047, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Lighthouse on top, 2-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Doom told the Long Island Daily.
