Detroit starter Ronald Jackson kept the D.C. hitters in check, helping his team cruise to a win, 9-1. The Rock City now have a record of 19-46.

Arturo Garza was 2-4 with 2 doubles for Detroit. The 27-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gerald Porter. It was his 28th RBI of the season.

"Ronald is a tough competitor," said Detroit manager Kyle Salow.
