Lighthouse Grind Out 2-1 Win
The Long Island Lighthouse claimed a close win over the Kingston Ponies, due in large part to Jack Peters. The Long Island left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. George King picked up the save for Long Island, his 20th of the year. At 35-37, Long Island is in 7th place in the Third League.

Long Island used the clutch hitting of Mike McKinney to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lighthouse ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a big one.

Peters told the Long Island Times: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
