Long Island parlayed a decent outing from starter Ken Harding into a solid win over the D.C. Divided. The final score was 5-4. The win went to Bob Flannery in relief, making him now 1-0. David Guzmán took the loss for D.C.. Long Island goes to 50-23. The win puts them 6½ games up in their division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Dan Love in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a bases-clearing double off 14-year veteran David Guzmán to win the game for Long Island. The home crowd went nuts.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Harding.
