With designated hitter Samuel Lopez leading the charge, the D.C. Divided defeated the Long Island Lighthouse, 8-5, at Washington Stadium. Lopez, who finished 5th in the 3L in batting average with .299 in 2059, went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Gregory Collins earned the win for D.C.. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 6-6. The save went to David Guzmán, his 9th this season.
D.C. second baseman Joaquín Rodríguez helped the Divided go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single off Long Island pitcher Jack Peters.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Rodríguez.
The win makes D.C. 39-35.
