Goodman, Hurricanes March to 7-1 Victory

The Cape Coral Hurricanes defeated the Kingston Ponies, 7-1, at Factory of Sadness. Freddie Goodman was a standout performer for Cape Coral. His 4 hits included 3 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Lawrence Higgins got the win, improving to 8-3. He worked 8 innings, giving up 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 0. The 9th-place Hurricanes now have a record of 34-41.
Karl Johnson, who is tied for 2nd in the 3L in triples with 4, aided the Cape Coral cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4 with a double and a walk.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Goodman.
