José Martínez, who led the 3L in wins with 14 in 2052, was locked in. The right-hander led the Detroit Rock City to a 4-3 win against the Kingston Ponies at Megaffin Park. Picking up the save was Larry Bryant, his 1st. The victory makes Detroit 25-53.
Yic Hsi, the Detroit catcher, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Rock City. For the game, Hsi was 1 for 3.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hsi told a Detroit Observer reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
